What is Verge?
Verge is a cryptoсurrency for daily use, designed for ordinary people like yourself. Speed and efficiency of the transaction are the main goals of Verge running on the original Bitcoin blockchain.
Mass adoption is very important to Verge community, therefore, our mission lies in empowering people all over the place to embed blockchain transactions into their routine. XVG provides people with the possibility to do so because it is quick, efficient and secure. Not only businesses but also individuals can choose from a variety of options to send and receive payments with maximum security and efficiency anywhere and anytime. When I say empowering it is because Verge has deflationary features which makes it suitable for everyday use in hyper-inflated countries like Turkey, Iran, Venezuela and Argentina.
How does Verge work?
To simply put in Layman’s terms, Verge offers completely anonymous transactions by obfuscating the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the transacting participants and every Verge wallet is integrated with TOR and I2P which provides its users with privacy as an option. Verge has an ever-growing list of vendors who accept XVG as a payment method. Right now there are over 400 vendors globally, the complete list of vendors is available on the official website. With NFC merchant kits, businesses can easily accept Verge and many users of our iOS wallet are using it as Point of Sale (POS). Payment processing partners like NowPayments make it easier for merchants around the world to process payments in Verge to FIAT instantly. Use cases like these bring in more vendors every day.
What is so good about Verge? Why is it important?
Everyone contributing to the Verge Currency are volunteers. None in the Core team and recently launched ambassador program is being paid for their work. The team is completely diverse and everyone brings in new perspectives in terms of marketing and development which makes it all the more exciting. Like I mentioned earlier, Verge improves upon the original Bitcoin blockchain. Verge can handle 10 times the number of transactions that Bitcoin does at the moment and with public blockchain Verge is ready for mass adoption.
How can I forget about the Verge community? Many of you who follow Verge on socials know the community as VergeFam. Because of their continuous support we were able to achieve heights. For example, in the last 6 months, Verge attended the CES 2021 with our partner Voice Life to demonstrate the latest innovation in wireless charging systems. Moreover, last week Verge and VoiceLife partnered with rLoop – a SpaceX award-winning crowdsourced engineering company.
Why I decided to support XVG
I am from India and I did my masters degree in Canada. From my personal experience in sending money overseas, I paid a hefty amount of transaction fees and had to wait days to receive the money. When one of my childhood friends, who is in the core team and goes by grandpriest (@cryptooza) on Twitter, introduced me to Verge I was shocked by the extremely low transaction fees (0.1 XVG) and the speed of receiving it in a matter of seconds.
In January of 2021, I watched the entire live stream of VoiceLife at CES 2021, which intrigued me a lot since my background is in Engineering. Another great initiative by Verge is Fueled by Verge. Fueled by Verge is a statement of commitment to mass adoption by educating and spreading awareness of blockchain technology and Verge Currency by the #VergeFam.
All these initiatives pushed me towards Verge even more. When the opportunity presented itself to become an Ambassador (thanks to Nichola from the core team for this wonderful initiative) I did not blink an eye, I wanted to contribute and to see Verge being used as an everyday currency.
What can I tell about VergeFam and the community?
Verge Currency has around 1M+ people in the community across all social platforms. It is called VergeFam because it literally feels like being in a family. VergeFam is full of passionate people from around the world. Verge has been through many ups and downs but the community stayed strong and it is growing every day. The official Twitter handle got verified recently because of the immense support from the community. I am glad to be a part of such a community.
Why is it important to monitor the growth of the XVG community and where can you do it?
The growth of the Verge community has always been organic, Verge never paid for listings on exchanges or marketing. It is important to monitor the growth of the community to reach a wider audience because the community plays a major role in achieving mass adoption.
