- What is Cardano and how does it work?
Shweta: Cardano is a proof-of-stake blockchain platform: the first to be founded on peer-reviewed research and developed through evidence-based methods. It combines pioneering technologies to provide unparalleled security and sustainability to decentralized applications, systems, and societies.

- How is Cardano used?
Shweta: Currently, Cardano can be used to stake your ADA and also to operate stake pools. But very soon, by Aug-2021, Cardano blockchain can be used to build smart contracts, which will mark the introduction of Decentralized Finance in the Cardano ecosystem, thus, providing financial independence to everyone. In addition, it can be used for various use cases in numerous sectors like agriculture, retail, insurance, health, etc.

- Tell about your projects – Lovelace Academy and kBlocks: What are their missions? For whom they can be useful/helpful?
Shweta: Lovelace Academy https://lovelace.academy/ is an educational platform focused on onboarding developers to build on Cardano. It is co-founded by Keith from SAFE Stake pool, Maria from CARDS stake pool, and myself. Keith and Maria have been very inspiring Cardano community members since the start and I am very lucky to share this space with them. kBlocks [Ticker: BLOCK] is a stake pool operated by me. Here we focus on empowering women by creating a safe space for them to join the blockchain ecosystem. A lot of women feel intimidated to join this male-dominated sector and to ask basic questions. We also have a Telegram group for female stake pool operators and community members where no question is a silly question.
- Why is it important to monitor the growth of the Cardano community on social media?
Shweta: Would recommend everyone interested in Cardano to join Twitter, Telegram, and Reddit. A lot of early information is passed on to the community through these media so it is very important to join these spaces and follow the right people.
